Not the Best Afternoon for Derek Anderson and [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
While the Cleveland Browns [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] via the shoulders (and triceps) of one Peyton Hillis and the arm of Seneca Wallace, things were not quite as good for two guys that would have been factoring into this equation one year ago.
Former Browns quarterbacks Derek Anderson and [link widoczny dla zalogowanych][/u] had an afternoon that both would like to forget, yet one that should provide quite a feeling of deja vu.
[link widoczny dla zalogowanych][/u], the player who the Browns traded to Denver for the abovementioned Hillis - which is no longer called the Ą°[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],Ąą by the way – was inactive on Sunday afternoon as the Broncos opted to roll with Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow against the Tennessee Titans. Derek Anderson, however, did get to play. The rough part: his passer rating was only 22 points higher than [link widoczny dla zalogowanych][/u]’s on the day.
After 14 pass attempts – with two of them landing in the hands of a San Diego Charger defender - the Arizona Cardinals decided to give D.A. the hook, replacing him with rookie quarterback Max Hall. While Arizona head coach Ken Wisenhunt says that he is unsure who will be under center come next week, it does not help Anderson’s case that he opened the game with an interception on the first drive and his second INT was of the pick-six variety; the Cardinals were behind early and were simply unable to amass any traction through the rest of the game.
Thus far through 2010, Anderson has completed 51 percent of his passes for 644 yards, three touchdowns, five interceptions and a passer rating of 59.5.
It’s worth noting that another former Browns quarterback, Bruce Gradkowski,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], fared a bit better. The journyman completed 24 of his 39 attempts for two touchdowns and two interceptions as the Oakland Raiders lost to the Houston Texans 31-24.
