excel at any endeavour requires serious commitment. Commitment is beyond interest - with interest, you only do it when circumstances permit. When you're committed to something you accept no excuses, only results. Unless commitment is made, there are only promises and hopes, but no plans.
To be successful at internet marketing requires serious commitment. Many people express an interest in setting up an internet marketing business, but how many are eventually successful - something in the order of 3%! People fail to succeed for a variety of reasons, but lack of commitment is probably the #1 cause of failure.
Have you ever been really committed to anything? Perhaps it was a sporting endeavour, or studying for a qualification. To really commit is to experience a depth of perseverance that will push through any obstacle. But to achieve this level of commitment there has to be an end goal that is worthy of the effort.
A number of years ago I was very much involved in distance running. I ran a couple of marathons, and was quite successful. My goal was to constantly improve, and a simple measure was the finishing time in my races. In order to produce personal bests I had to be committed to my training. There were no excuses, training came first.
It always saddens me to see how many people drop their gym membership after the first flush of enthusiasm. Resolutions are made and an initial commitment is made to attend the gym on a regular basis. However,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], without a realistic plan, there is little hope of success. What was the original intention when joining the gym? To get fitter, lose fat, build muscle? Too vague,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]!
My wife and I have recently started a new phase in our training, and we have set specific goals to which we are committed. My goal is to achieve a body fat level of below 10% whilst maintaining my current body weight. Highly specific, and I have a clear plan for achieving this goal.
The same applies to internet marketing. If your goal is simply to "make money on the internet" then you are doomed to failure! How can you be committed to such a vague goal? Commitment requires a clear plan to reach a specific target in a realistic time scale.
As with my gym target, achieving my internet marketing target will take time, but I am committed, and through my commitment I know that I will achieve my goal.
How about you? Are you really committed to internet marketing? Are you willing to make the necessary effort and not get distracted by the next shiny new thing? Commitment requires focus. Let me finish with a quote from Pat Riley:
"There are only two options regarding commitment. You're either in or out. There's no such thing as a life inbetween."
