n I 1st started in sales recruiting I cold phoned CEO's of major company's everyday until they both accepted a meeting with me or handed me down the line to something another. One day one of those chilly calls paid off and I ended up meeting with a newly appointed VP of HR for a $2.5 billion enterprise.
At one point in the meeting he queried me why elated, successful sales reps left because current sales jobs. Being quite well read and up on the industry news, I began to recite the results of a vote I had fair read approximately this very topic. I said something to the achieve of, "sales reps leave for they feel not respect from their bosses, they ambition more admission, they want greater challenges in their sales jobs, they want more recess, more malleable hours so they tin be with their families."
I went on and on with this malarkey that I quite frankly didn't believe but thought was the right thing to say.
He stopped me and said, "Steve, sales reps leave for new sales jobs at first and thing only. They want more money!"
We wrapped up the meeting. It went well - I finished up with the account and assisted them recruit on mean of a sales rep a week for quite some period.
But the one entity I educated from that appointment was more momentous than anybody number of successful quests that I could ever complete.
I studied then and there to never say anything but what I felt to be the truth.
That said - I just read a post by The Recruiting Edge - one of my companion recruiting industry blogs.
The post has survey results listed that emerge to be taken from a survey completed by Careerbuilder. The results of this survey seems apt be extra in line with what I listen and watch from sales professionals.
