Jamie Stevens is the dweller snipper on How to Look Good Naked and Gok's Clothes RoadShow. He was Celebrity Hairdresser of the Year 2010 and he's also Gok Wan's personal hair stylist. He joined 4Beauty on Twitter for a live hair Q&A, and answered dozens of your questions about hairstyles, colour and the best products and tools. Read on to find out what he had to say.
Groearng Out Hair
@AmiiMetalFace: "I have shoulder-length hair that I'm growing out from a mohawk. Its just shapeless! Any tips for style for a round face?"

Jamie: "Carey Mulligan's pixie do would be ideal for you, with softness round the face and texture that's bang-on-trend."

@AmiiMetalFace: "the pixie do sounds adorable, but i'm actionually trying to grow it, so was looking for styles to use while it grows!"

Jamie: "If you don't want to cut it, try clip-in hair extensions or experiment with straighteners - go curly or wavy."

@McDowling69: "what's the secret to making my hair grow faster? I'm trying to grow out a bob"

Jamie: "Eat well and drink lots of water. Your health reflects in your hair."
Straggly Long Hair
@annietickell: "I have long hair how do I stoppage the ends looking straggly?

Jamie: "Get it trimmed regularly, and use serum in between cuts to seal split ends."
How to Volumise
@Melissa_NDUBZ_X: "is there anything else i can use to make my hair look bigger acharacter from hairspray?"

Jamie: "Clip-in hair extensions are a great quick fix to add volume or length."

@Hannahbarstow: "what is the best way to dry bobbed hair (like keira knightley) and straighten it as it is tousled?"

Jamie: "Flip your head over and blowdry your roots upwards for extra volume. Then run straighteners over the mid-lengths and ends."

Curly Hair

@ohlalanats: "what is the best product to keep curls tamed and non frizzy?"

Jamie: "Great little tip: when you rinse your hair, leave 50% of your gradeer in to tame the frizz."

@beccatwit: "how can i texturise my curls without making them 'crunchy'?"

Jamie: "Avoid using a mousse. Go for a more hydrating cream. I like a product called Loosely Defined by Matrix."

@allyalejandro: "my hair is naturally curly but fine, so the curls don't hold even with hairspray. Any tips to help keep the curls?"

Jamie: "Use a texturevolution, thickening product. There's a good mousse called Go Big which won't leave your hair crunchy."
Hair Colour

Helen: "How do I make my blonde hair sleeker and more shiny?"

Jamie: "Use a silver/purple shampoo. Great for neutralising yellowy tones in blonde hair and making it look healthier and shinier."

@The_BeautyScoop: "Hi Jamie/C4. Do you have any tips for keeping red toned hair vibrant?"

Jamie: "Get yourself a colour shampoo. Don't wash it as often or you'll wash the colour out more quickly."
Greasy Hair
@hannah_rand: "Hi Jamie - how do I stop my fringe going greasy when the rest of my hair is so dry - wash it sepasizely? any other ideas?"

Jamie: "Stop contacting it! And dry shampoo is the best quick fix for a fringe."

Mariam: "I have very greasy hair, it gets greasy after a day, what do you advise?"

Jamie: "To abate grease,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], cut down on conditioner - only use it on the ends. Give it a cold rinse after washing to closedown the cuticles."
Revamping Long Hair

Jamie: "Go for a Kate Middleton look with more layers, a side sectioning and a bouncy blow-dry - elegant and sophisticated."
Damaged Hair

@cosmetic_candy: "Hi Jamie, what's the best way to style recently permed hair?! So there's no frizz"

Jamie: "If a perm has left you frizzy, it might be overmodeed. Try deep conditioning, but it potency need to be cut."

@natalie_1993: "What product would you say is the best for heat defence and/or preventing split ends?"

Jamie: "GHD do a great thermal conserveor spray. Apply it to stop your hairdryer or styling tools from drying out your hair."
Hair Trends for 2011
@codoherty: "what looks are in for 2011 (mid length hair)?"

Jamie: "1970s! Long grown-out bobs with bold, heavy fringes. Great step to revive your look without cutting too much hair off."
Styling Long Hair
@KelInnes: "Want to grow my hair long but it's at a length I'm fed up with. What can I do with it the other day to keep from cutting it?"

Jamie: "Get a good pair of straighteners - you can curl, flick, wave or straighten. Play around with styling,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]!"

Fringes

Jamie: "I'd say go for it - strong, heavy fringes are bang on trend for 2011."
Taming Thick Hair

Anna: "My hair is thick. If I don't spend ages straightening it,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it goes massive,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]! Any quick fix tips to tame it?"

Jamie: "Speak to your hairdresser about thinning it out - assert the length but get rid of lots of bulk, making it easier to style."
Hair Straighteners
@KelInnes: "and a big question we all want answered.What straighteners would you recommend?"

Jamie: "Professional: Cloud Nine straighteners, or high street: Remington Pearl."
Face Shapes
@natalie_1993: "I want a new hairstyle and I don't know which will suit my oval face shape, any ideas?"

Jamie: "An oval face is the best shape to have - you suit most styles! If you've got a good hairwearer, they should know what style to go for."
