The young lass can't seem to say out of trouble or out of the eyes of the prying media, but this hasn't stopped her from actually getting some work. In the upcoming grindhouse flick Machete Lindsay plays a a gun. The film is inspired from the short trailer that played in front of Planet Terror; also a Robert Rodriguez production. Technically [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Lohan's character carries the moniker of "a socialite with a penchant for guns." Lindsay Lohan's character is mysteriously absent from the final trailer, which leads to some speculation that the studios don't want to take a risk of selling the film as a "Lindsay Lohan" film. They don't call it show "business" for nothing.
To say that Machete has expanded (or exploded) and evolved would be a major understatement. Danny Trejo, in his first leading role, plays an ex Mexican rogue federale who's a day laborer in the states. After he's hired by some shady forces to kill a United States senator, Trejo is double crossed and made the scapegoat. On the run from law enforcement and an army of assassins [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Machete will need all the help he can get.
Machete will most likely be rated R for extreme violence, sexual situations, bad language, etc... Machete is a 20th Century Fox release and is due in theaters on September 3rd, 2010. Make no mistake, Machete is an exploitation film to the ninth degree, but is under very capable hands. Robert Rodriguez was the man in charge of the latest Predators film [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], minus directing duties. Well, Rodriguez is back at the helm co-directing with Ethan Maniquis. Rodriguez also produced and wrote the film.

We Didn't Cross the Border, the Border Crossed Us
There hasn't been a cast of this level assembled for a film in a long time. The only film that comes close as a casting rival is Sylvestor Stallone's upcoming The Expendables. Besides Lohan, Machete's clan of heroes and outlaws include: Danny Trejo, Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Steven Seagal, Cheech Marin, Jeff Fahey, Rose McGowan, and introducing Don Johnson. You really have to see the trailer for that last part. It's not intentional.
