Cheryl was brought into the show The X-Factor by Simon Cowell as a judge (replacing Sharon Osbourne) in 2008 and quickly became a popular addition, her acts winning for her first two years on the show with Alexandra Burke and Joe McElderrry. Her solo career was also hugely successful with her debut album 3 Words and the resulting single "Fight for this Love" being chart toppers in the UK.

Cheryl Cole has seen an amazing turnaround in her fortunes over the last few years, starting with being chosen as a member of the band Girls Aloud on the reality TV show Popstars: The Rivals, then hitting the depths following a conviction for assault to reinventing herself as both a solo artist and judge on UK hit show The X-Factor, but is it all about to explode in her face.

Cheryl has seen her popularity plummet recently with the UK public since her decision surrounding the contestant Gamu Nhengu being axed in favour of Katie Waissel, subsequently stating that she had been pressured by the show's bosses, citing visa concerns and that Katie would be a safer option. In a bid to restore her "good girl" image with the public, she is to appear before Piers Morgan on his Life Stories. The interview is due to be recorded in the coming week, according to The Daily Star, and Cheryl is being encouraged to give a no-holds barred account of her life. Although Morgan has been trying to persuade Cole to be the subject of one of his shows for some time, she has always declined, citing not wishing to disclose too much of her life on camera – until now.
It would appear that the outcry following Gamu's exclusion together with the outrage surrounding the survival of Katie in the show has culminated in a change of heart by Cole to put everything straight. It will be interesting to see if we finally get the truth on her marriage break-up, malaria and what is really going on at The X-Factor. Be prepared for tears... and lots of them.
