Mumbai which was formerly known as Bombay is the capital of the state of Maharashtra in India. It is one of the most populous cities in the country and is the second most populous city in the world.
Mumbai comprises of seven islands which formed an archipelago and were inhabited by the fishing community. Over the years, the place has emerged as the commercial and entertainment centre of the country. It houses major financial institutions like the Reserve Bank of India, National Stock Exchange, Bombay Stock Exchange, headquarters of many banks etc. At the same time,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it also has a flourishing film and television industry which is one of the biggest contributors to the city's economy and a source of employment generation.
There are multiple opportunities in the city for prospective job seekers. They come with a full package of shopping, entertainment and fun zones for the whole family.
Most of the prominent malls are located in South Mumbai which is the older part of the city. Some of the most popular malls in this part of the metropolis are the High Street Phoenix Mall in Parel with the very distinctive chimney showcasing the fact that textile industry was at its best in the city. Apart from this there are Atria and Crossroads in Worli. One of the busiest areas in Mumbai is the Andheri which houses the City Mall.
Apart from this is the Nirmal Lifestyle in Mulund, Inorbit and Hypercity in Malad. All these malls are huge in size and offer a varied collection of items from grocery, apparel, food items to toys and electronic goods.
Mumbai Bazaars: Shopping in this bustling city becomes joie de vivre if one is familiar with the quaint streets and by lanes of the city markets. It becomes a memorable experience to be cherished forever. Some of the bazaars have such striking and catchy names that it is hard to resist a visit there.
Imagine the picture of a place called the Chor Bazaar (chor literally means thief) wherein you get a spectacular collection of antiques, jewellery, wooden articles, leather ware and all other things of daily use.
Crawford Market is famous for flowers, fruit, meat and fish and is such a lively place that one feels compelled to capture the activity in the camera.
Zaveri Bazaar is known for its excellent range of jewellery item while the shops in the Merewether Road behind the Taj Mahal Hotel offer exquisitely designed carpets.
