Liaoning's equipment manufacturers turn to cluster

It may have been a bit chilly in November in Liaoning province,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but in a conference room in the Shenyang economic development zone,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], some manufacturers‘ representatives were having a heated discussion.
The nearly 200 participants were from domestic and overseas companies that included industrial giants like Germany‘s Sauter,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], France‘s ISI,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and NSK from Japan.
The focus was on an original equipment manufacturing project undertaken by the Shenyang Machine Tool (Group) Co Ltd (SMTCL).
SMTCL wants to change its traditional way of doing things - the "large and comprehensive" development model - to a more market-oriented specialized one.
The SMTCL project calls for outsourcing part of its equipment and component manufacturing and this was considered an "unprecedented revolution",[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], hence leading to the heated discussion.
